Thanks to Rob Harrison for the report

Several boys missing due to their county training commitments didn't stop the Crostyx U14 boys putting on a strong display of hockey against a young Waltham forest side, who never really had the chance to get going.

After Freddie Britt had waltzed around the entire Forest defence several times in the opening sequences and given the boys are 2-0 lead, the following 55 minutes tone had been set. We practiced much of the first half with 10, and indeed played the whole second half with 9 on the turf.

Despite the goals flying in, the boys were asked to play a different style in the second half, keeping the ball for long periods at a time, and transferring the ball quickly and often from side to side. With 9 players that was a tremendous effort from the players. Everybody again had the chance to play different positions through the game, and it was nice to have a couple of the U12s adapting quickly into the team.

HT 9-0
FT 15-0
