Crostyx ladies travelled to top of the table Bedford at the weekend, hoping to keep their undefeated streak in tact. After battling the traffic and various sat-nav routes, we all made it there in time, along with our loyal supporters - thank you for making the journey and watching in the bitter cold!

Crostyx started strong with some good play around the back with our wing backs finding Caz, Smithy and Poults down the lines. Bedford were quick to move the ball and solid in their defence, making it very hard for Crostyx to get through. Bedford won a couple of short corners in quick succession, which our defence dealt with well, but they managed to break the crostyx seal by winning a penalty flick from an unlucky foot on the line. Oli went the right way and got a touch on the ball, but unfortunately it still made its way to the back of the net. 1-0 to Bedford.

Half time chat from coach Bob was positive and clear, the girls went out strong. The link up play and determination was evident, winning those 50/50 battles and with player of the match performance from Chloe on the left, keeping Bedford out of the game on their right hand side, which clearly affected their game.

We also saw some great work rate and link up play from Nat, Lara and Anna on the right but unfortunately this week the visitors failed to get on the scoresheet and the game finished 1-0 to the home side.

Crostyx did themselves proud with a fantastic second half performance and look forward to hosting the home fixture. Back to winning ways next week!
