The Crostyx U16 Girls arrived in sunny, but chilly Chelmsford for their first Home Counties League match of the season.

Unfortunately, due to many players being away for half Term, Crostyx could only muster 10 players, so they knew that this was going to be a challenging afternoon in from of a packed supporters stand.

The strong defence (Ruby James, Courtney Ferns, Saskia Murphy and Clara Johnson with Imogen du Bois in goal) organised themselves well. Their calmness under pressure ensured that any play that came their way was swiftly dealt with and passed back to midfield.

The midfield (Lucy Leel, Imogen Murphy and Lara Chick) made some fantastic runs to bring the forwards (Helene Standring and Kiera Ferns) into play. Crostyx pressured from the start and by half time they were 4-0 up.

The second half was more of a challenge as Chelmsford had organised themselves to counter the relentless Crostyx challenge. The game was much more evenly matched, with some good connecting play by both teams. The game ended 5-0 to Crostyx much to the delight of the travelling supporters.
