The U16 girls played Southgate on Sunday in the next round of the England Hockey League.

A usual strong Southgate side had five subs, Crostyx had none and we had to borrow a Waltham Forest player to field a side. Southgate also boasted 5 Performance Centre level players.

Our girls played their hearts out, so hats off to them. They made me very proud.

Also thank you to Rusty and Sophie for coaching the side and being so encouraging to the girls too. Despite the score, the improvement shown by the girls over the last few years was obvious and that can only be good news for the Purple Train!
