The Men's 1s continue their winning run with a win on home turf

After a late win away from home last week game, Crostyx looked for a decisive win at home against Hampstead and Westminster 4s. Both captain Aaron Phillips and vice-captain Christian hall were back in action after a week away, as the Men's 1s looked to return Lee Valley into their fortress as they did last season

The start for Crostyx could not have gone better, scoring 2 goals in the opening 10 minutes. The first from Alfie Tedder, drag flicking the ball neatly into the bottom left corner of the goal from the first short corner of the game just 4 minutes in. The second was a rebound volley from Hugo Standring that flew past the keeper into the back of the net, following some neat skill and dribble along the baseline from young star Izzy Duck.

Crostyx continued to dominate for the remainder of the half refusing to relinquish control of the game to their opponents. Despite Crostyx continuing to dominate possession and control in the midfield the score stayed at 2-0 going into the half time break.

Hampstead and Westminster came out into the second half determined, however that determination quickly became frustration. The results were a green card and a yellow card due to some agricultural tackling to deny the home side two quick counter attacks, giving Crostyx a numbers advantage.

As the visitors returned to 11 men, Crostyx kept battling the growing pressure and any attempts by the away side to get back into the game.

Despite Matt Palmer losing a shoe at the opponents 23, Notable performances from Liam Higgins and Callum Palmer (pictured) in the Left back and right back positions along with a man of the match from Joseph Hall in centre midfield made sure the game ended 2-0, giving Crostyx their first home win of the season.

Next week: East London M2s (A) as Crostyx will no doubt look to get one over on their local rivals.
