We travelled to Saffron Walden this week for a 2nd v 3rd clash for a late start in the dark.

At the outset we looked the better side and I personally thought we’d take away the points. This didn’t get through to the oppo though and they decided to make a game of it. However , Crostyx did make most of the play and relied on their back four to soak up any counter attacks. (Tilly’s right knee doing a grand job).

Connor Love opened the scoring with a nice one two to slam it home. 1-0 at half time.

To be honest, although we weren’t at our best , we did have the game in our hands and Saffron didn’t really challenge us in the second half. Love scored two more , both lovely right sided undercuts to beat the keeper at the far post, to get his hat trick and win us the game.

Back at the Wells we found that Witham had lost so we are top of the league by a point and with superior goal difference too.
