The ladies 2s turned up early on a beautiful Saturday morning ready to fight for another win against Thurrock after going top of the table the previous weekend.

After a good warm up the squad lined up. The whistle blew, Thurrock made a swift attacked down the right hand side and before anyone knew what had happened they had put the ball in the back of the net seeing Crostyx going 1-0 down within the first few minutes. Not willing to let this phase them the ladies in purple countered, making a number of attacks on the opposite D with Sarah Belsham and Helene Standring playing beautifully up front, Thurrock were not willing to accept this and returned aggressively giving Carla Preston, Lisa Dixon and Lottie Gillett a hard time at the back.

Unfortunately Crostyx couldn't keep Thurrock out and they gained another goal. Crostyx again rallied and again attacked with full force and this time were successful, with Kiera Murphy making a blinding run up the right hand side, dancing around 4 or 5 players to play the ball into Helene Standring who neatly put it in the back of the net. At the half time whistle the score stood at 2-1 to Thurrock.

After a stirring team talk from coach Rusty Smith the girls came back out and dominated the game, with Zayna, Tia, Suzy and George playing beautifully up the wings and again Crostyx we're reward for the hard work with a goal from Sarah Belsham. After another 10 mins of hard fighting Thurrock won a corner which they converted.

Despite Crostyx numerous attempts on goal after this in an attempt to equalise it was not to be their day with the final score being 3-2 to Thurrock. Special mention to Suzy Haven who got the unanimous MOM for a fantastic game.
