With Promotion already guaranteed Crostyx knew that a victory would see them crowned champions.

An early start meant availability issues and a resurgent Chelmsford meant this would always be a tricky fixture. Crostyx started the game as though they were still in bed and Chelmsford had the better of the early skirmishes and it took a determined Crostyx defence led by Guy Peddy and Simon Blockey to keep the visitors from going behind.

As Crostyx started to pass the ball around a lack of composure in front of goal and some great saves from the Chelmsford keeper meant the crowd were kept waiting for the opening score. When the ever industrious Akbar finally got a touch to a cross the Visitors went ahead and looked to have settled down. However poor discipline cost the men in purple when the midfield looked to already have finished their season and allowed Chelmsford to equalise. Crostyx Regained the lead with a short corner from their Captain Nick Gillett but they were unable to see off Chelmsford who scored a breakaway equaliser.

In the second half Crostyx failed to match the heights of play they have shown all season and the game was characterised by missed opportunities from both sides. When Matt Rowland scored from another penalty corner observers thought the result looked assured but once again Crostyx allowed Chelmsford the ball and they ran the length of the pitch securing a tap in. Crostyx toiled hard and one moment of quality saw Styles finish a great move neatly but almost predictably Chelmsford were gifted the ball and levelled the scores at 4 a piece.

Results elsewhere meant the point was good enough for the Champions crown to be adorned on a Crostyx side who deserved it for the seasons performance
